Sweet Pea was brought to a local shelter after she was found as a stray. The shelter staff couldn't believe no one came to claim this sweet, well-behaved dog, and once we met her we couldn't believe it either! She appears to be a Dutch Shepherd mixed with a little basset hound or even some dachshund.

Sweet Pea is without a doubt one of the nicest dogs her foster family has ever met. She is about 40 lbs, and approximately 3 years old. She is excellent with other dogs, and on her first trip to the dog park with her foster family she charmed everyone there, playing and frolicking with dogs both big and small. Sweet Pea is wonderful with humans of all sizes, fine with cats, and very easygoing, mellow, and affectionate. She has soft ears and gorgeous soft fur, and one of the nicest personalities we have seen in quite awhile.

Sweet Pea is completely housetrained - she has not had a single accident in her foster home. She will "sit" automatically when offered a treat, and when she wants attention she will gently place her paw on your knee. She is wonderful "off leash" and never leaves her foster mom's sight. She does need some work on the leash, as she tends to pull, but other than that minor issue her foster family thinks she is perfect. Sweet Pea is not destructive when left alone, and her foster family leaves her free in the house with their other dogs while they are at work during the day.
