My Story

7/2/10 Update: I have made it through the first three heartworm treatments and have one more to go. It has been a struggle but I am hanging in there. I am hoping once my last heartworm treatment is done, I will feel so much better. My seizures have been under control with my medicine. I am looking for a quiet house that will love me for me. I am sweet and quiet and I love to sleep near my humans. If you have room in your heart for me let me know. I promise I will be a great girl for you. Update 4/29/09:  I love people and want to be with them all the time.  I will look at them with those big adoring eyes of mine.  I love to be petted, taken for walks and go for rides in  the car.  I am great with crowds of people, Bark in the Park was heaven for me.  Lots to do and lots to see and most important lots of pets for me.  My favorite place is next to a person.  I will run to meet you at the door when you come home from work with a wag of the tail.  I will even play.  I don't particularly like dogs in my face all the time and I don't really play with them because I would rather the people.  But I do tolerate dogs if I have to.  I really like cats but should not have a home with one in it because I like them to much.  I won't hurt that cat but I would drive him crazy.  I rarely bark but may let you know at times that you left me out when you went inside.  I just do not want you to forget me.  I am doing great on my medications for my seizures.  My foster family says I am a love of a dog.  I hope you have room in your heart and home for me.

4/18/09:  Hi my name is Suzy and I was picked up as a stray and taken to a shelter where I was going to be euthanized until someone saved me.  I have had a hard beginning in foster care.  I started to have seizures and was taken to the emergency vet.  They gave me medicine and I was finally able to sleep and my seizures stopped.  I was a bit worn out from the stress but am finally coming around.  I am on Phenobarbital and doing well.  I am a bit scared but I love to be petted.  I would love to be in a forever home so I could feel secure, I know that having a forever home would most certainly make me feel better.  I may need to be on Phenobarbital the rest of my life but I am doing well on it.

Phenobarbital is an inexpensive drug used to help control seizures in dogs.  My new family would just have to make sure I received my medicine daily and I can live a full, happy life.  Please consider giving me a home although I may have special needs.

If you have room in your heart for me let SAFE Animal Haven know.
