My Story
Meet Sunny, the sweetest ray of sunshine ready to illuminate your life with endless love and joy! At just a smidge over four months old, Sunny is expected to be the perfect medium-sized companion, with an estimated adult weight of 35 to 50 pounds. While Sunny's dad remains a mystery, her mom was a lovely cattle dog mix within that size range, suggesting Sunny will follow (a pic of her mom is included). Sunny also has hind dew claws, which hint she may have some pyr in her but will unlikely get to be a large breed dog.
Sunny's journey began in late April when her mom and her 10 puppies found themselves in an overcrowded shelter. Just in the nick of time, a compassionate foster family stepped in to provide a safe haven. While Sunny’s siblings have all found their forever homes, she remains, perhaps because the best was indeed saved for last!
Raised in a nurturing foster environment, Sunny is blossoming into a clever, eager-to-please pup. She’s mastered the puppy door, walks beautifully on a leash, and is potty trained—though she might need a little grace as she adjusts to a new home. Her foster experience has equipped her with a great start, but she'll thrive with an owner who continues her training in basic obedience and beyond.
Social butterfly Sunny has grown up with dogs of all sizes and would love a canine playmate in her new home. She’s also been around a cat without issue, showing more timidity than curiosity, suggesting she could coexist peacefully with a feline friend. Exposure to children at offsite events has gone splendidly, making her a great addition to a family aware of the playful, sometimes nippy nature of puppies.
As a bundle of playful energy, Sunny will flourish in a home that embraces the responsibilities and delights of raising a young dog. Regular potty breaks and short walks will be key, as we hope she won't be left alone for long stretches. A home with a yard, preferably fenced, would be ideal, though we're open to apartment living on a case-by-case basis if conditions are right for her to thrive.
Sunny is adored by her foster family, who are determined to find her the perfect forever home. They will help us review adoption applications to ensure that potential adopters are as committed and sincere as they are.
Sunny is ready to become your forever cheerful companion if you’re ready to bring some sunshine into your life. Just imagine the endless joy and unwavering companionship that’s waiting to brighten your home!
