Sumo is a two year old male Boston Terrier. He came to foster underweight but at his ideal he will be about 30 pounds. He’s a healthy, all-around warm hearted, gentle guy.
Sumo is quick to win over everyone he meets with his quiet, loving demeanor and goofiness. In his foster home, he divides his time evenly between playing with his Boston Terrier foster sister and keeping his people warm by snoozing on their laps or squirming his way under the covers. He has discovered all the joys of being spoiled rotten and loves every minute of it - from sushi to belly rubs - and would have nothing but appreciation for a forever home that will treat him like a prince. He loves to romp around with all dogs big and small and would be a great candidate for a family with other dogs.
Sumo can be shy around men and take some time to warm up. He will now sit or lay in anyone‘s lap provided they aren’t standing, but may still back away from unfamiliar men when they are approach him. Despite some initial hesitance, he ultimately did well with two boys ages 2 and 4.
Sumo has made significant progress building confidence, but will need strong leadership to help him continue down the right path. A basic obedience class with his new family members will be a huge step in helping him build the confidence he needs.
Sumo is currently being fostered in Northern New Jersey. Transport assistance is available with adoptions.
