My Story

Hola! I'm Suerte (pronounced "swear-tay), which means "lucky" in Spanish, and I'm hoping to be lucky enough to find my forever home with you! I'm a 7-year-old, 48-pound, honey colored Whippet/Labrador mix with a heart full of love and a wagging tail. I started my journey in Mexico, where I was found as a young pup tied up and scared. Thankfully, a wonderful family rescued me and gave me the love I needed. I grew healthy and strong, and even moved with them to Oregon! My family includes a dog who is older than me and as I've gotten older, I've realized that I prefer to be the only dog in the house, so now I'm looking for a new forever family in a one-dog home where I can share all my love. I'm housetrained, leash trained, and bilingual! I know commands like "sit", "stay", "look at me", and more. I'm an affectionate companion who loves cuddling on the couch. I love going on walks, though I prefer to steer clear of other dogs. And sometimes, certain things like hoses or fishing poles can make me a bit nervous, but I just need a little reassurance. I'm easygoing with my family and new people and I'll be be in my happy place in a home without young children, cats, or other dogs. After a fun morning walk, I love to just lounge around, but I also enjoy a good game of fetch in the afternoon or just hanging out with my favorite people! If you're looking for a loyal, snuggly, and loving companion, I am the perfect match for you!
