My Story

If you are interested in meeting and adopting Sue, please fill out our dog adoption questionnaire and e-mail any questions to: sueb@homewardtrails. org (no relation!) PLEASE VISIT THIS WEBSITE TO FIND THE ADOPTION QUESTIONNAIRE: http://www.homewardtrails.org/adopt-a-pet/adoption-forms/ LOCATION: A GREAT FOSTER ADOPTION COORDINATOR: Sue B ADOPTION FEE: $475. This fee INCLUDES spay/neuter and microchip. **Ask me about our many adoption benefits that include free exams, pet insurance, training and other discounts! ESTIMATE WEIGHT FULL GROWN: 30 lbs KNOWN WITH DOGS: Sue enjoys being around other dogs and having a relaxing time. She enjoys laying outside catching some rays and would rather do that than play a whole bunch. KNOWN WITH CATS: We do not currently know how they are with cats. If that is needed, let us know and we'll work on getting that information! She's a sweetheart, so with proper introduction, we think there could be a friendship. KNOWN WITH KIDS: Sue is great with people of all ages and is a super friendly girl! KNOWN COMMANDS: She is getting to know various commands. This girl is housebroken and walks well on a leash. She asks: "I'm ready, What else do you have for me?" KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING &/OR CRATING: Sue settles nicely into her crate. She is housebroken, so polite and does not need to be crated. KNOWN LIKES: Affection, sunbathing, dogs, treats and using my nose. KNOWN DISLIKES: None currently known. (Except not actually meeting all the squirrels that taunt me) ABOUT Sue: Sue came to us from one of our rural shelter partners. She is a great companion dog who just wants to hang out with her people and enjoy the sun while hanging outside. She does well on leash and likes to sniff around while on her walks. She might do her best with a relaxed family who enjoy being on the porch or deck. HT ADOPTION INCLUSIONS: Spay/Neuter First 3 distemper series vaccines & de-wormings Microchip - lifetime with no registration fees Current on heartworm preventative Current on flea/tick preventative EXCLUSIVE ADOPTER BENEFITS: Free first exam with: Caring Hands Animal Hospital, Palisades Veterinary Clinic, Jermantown Animal Hospital, Union Veterinary Clinic and Clarendon Animal Care and all VCA Animal Hospitals (VCA offers $250 coverage - details provided) Free online workshop with a professional dog trainer at Fur-Get Me Not within the first 30 days of adopting (in DC/Arlington/Alexandria only) A portion of EVERY ADOPTION fee supports spay/neuter for animals in under-resourced communities BE A FOSTER: Save a life: http://www.homewardtrails.org/foster-a-pet/dog-and-cat-foster-program.
