Steve

Location: LOUISIANA Steve was picked up with Violet in Louisiana In September 2023. This handsome boy has got an old soul. He loves belly rubs and prefers to lounge around outside. He doesn’t get worked up about too much - except other dogs. Steve is dog selective. He especially dislikes other male dogs. He loves Violet, as well as one other female dog, but absolutely must be the only male dog in the household. Steve does well with most kids. Our 5 year old is able to walk him on her own as he has decent leash manners. He has been around horses and never bothered them. He has also been around the exterior of our chicken run and never acted interested or tried to get inside. Steve can climb a 6 foot chain link fence, so secure fencing is a must if he will be outside unattended. He currently stays on a 100’ trolley run when outside and is content with that as well. He is a runner if he gets loose. He is crate trained; he has never been inside, but with his laid back personality, he could probably adjust to life indoors. Steve is heartworm positive and has started treatment. His next appointment is scheduled for October, which will mark one year of treatments. We are hoping for a negative test result then! Steve would love a home where he can just chill and be near his people! He would do best in a home where he can hog all the attention (no other animals), unless you would like to consider adding Violet to your family as well! He will require secure fencing or a commitment to house training/leash walks. If you would like to add his handsome guy to your family, let us know!
