**Meet John Stamos: Your Perfect Canine Companion!**
Introducing John Stamos, a stunning 4-year-old neutered Shepherd/Husky mix looking for his forever home. With a personality that leans more towards a Shepherd, Stamos is a loyal people-pleaser who loves companionship and doesn’t run away.
Stamos has had a challenging start in life. Found as a stray at one year old, he was adopted from the county shelter by a loving owner who, unfortunately passed away unexpectedly. Despite this, Stamos has maintained his sweet and playful nature. He loves going for walks and running zoomies in the backyard, bringing joy and energy to any home.
Stamos is a big, tall dog weighing 75 lbs. He previously lived with a cat but his playful pouncing may be too much for most felines. With dogs, he’s an enthusiastic playmate, getting along well with a smaller Husky mix in his previous home. However, his play style can be intense, so he needs a compatible dog companion who can match his energy.
Due to limited socialization in the past year and a half, Stamos requires a patient and experienced family who can help him adjust. He has made significant progress, walking well on a leash with a harness and responding positively to commands like sit and stay. At home, he is a cuddle bug and very calm.
Though he is a picky eater and takes his time with meals, Stamos can be protective of his treats, growling quietly if approached too closely. This behavior is probably not appropriate for children, but teenager and older might be fine. With positive reinforcement and redirection, he learns quickly and shows remarkable improvement.
Stamos’s ideal home is with a family experienced with large dogs, offering him patience, affection, exercise, and consistency. His late owner's family is deeply invested in ensuring Stamos finds a loving home, as it helps them honor their loved one’s memory.
