My Story

Meet Sprout, a delightful 10 lb., 5 1/2 year old, Havanese/Shih Tzu mix sweetheart searching for her forever home! This charming pup is a bundle of sunshine who thrives on walks, playtime, and snuggles. Sprout is the perfect walking companion for anyone who enjoys exploring the outdoors. Unfazed by other dogs, she loves meeting new people and making friends on your adventures. Back at home, her playful side shines through. She's full of energy and loves to chase after crinkly toys with squeakers and engage in playful tugs-of-war with her doggy pal. But don't be fooled by her energetic side – Sprout is also a cuddle monster! She's happy to greet you at the door after a long day and perfectly content to curl up on your lap for a relaxing snuggle session. She also does fine in the car. She is currently living with another dog who she has made friends with and plays well with. She has done great with new dog intros as well. She has not been around cats or kids in her current foster home. Sprout is a loving dog who would thrive in an active or relaxed home. If you're looking for a walking companion, a cuddle buddy, and a playful pup to brighten your days, Sprout could be your perfect match! Visit STAF.org for more information on our adoption process. *** Email [email protected] for next steps! *** • All of our animals are spayed/neutered and current on shots. • We do not do same-day adoptions. You will be asked to return for at least one follow-up visit, then take the dog home for a trial period before officially adopting. • You must be 21 years or older to adopt from STAF. • We require a 4-foot-tall physical fence for homes with children under the age of 11. We also may require a physical fence for specific dogs on a case-by-case basis, depending on each dog’s behavior and exercise needs. • Due in part to increasing coyote activity/incidents in the area and the difficulty of predicting how a dog will respond to invisible fence training, we can not adopt to homes with invisible fences. • We do request vet and personal references. • We can facilitate adoptions within a 30-mile radius of our Cincinnati-based shelter.
