Hi ya ~ I’m Milagro but everyone calls me Mawgie! I had great time at the costume photo party ~ the human helpers even let me wear two different outfits ‘cause I’m soooo fun! That’s me sliding into “home plate” for the winning run! (no worries, they used our favorite stuffed toy as the plate to prevent injuries ;-)
My previous owners dumped me in the streets when they moved, but a nice neighbor took me to the shelter. That didn’t work out too well either, seems I had a very minor skin issue after not eating for so long. The shelter saw a tiny little patch of skin on my face and decided to euthanize me, saying I was just another “little black dog”… they also said black dogs are the hardest to home because people think they’re scary. Do I look scary? I’m always happy and smiling! Anyway, another staff member noticed my super personality and called the bully rescue. That’s when my stubborn Irish luck finally kicked in! My foster Mom saved me ‘cause she thinks I’m cute!!! (Whew, that was really close!) She put this yummy powder on my food and it fixed me right up. Now I’m a stylin boy who loves to run and play with my human and canine friends here in my multi dog foster home. Did I mention play??? I can play, Play, PLAY all day outside but always settle right down inside ‘cause I know that’s the place to kick back and behave myself. I also really loooooooove children, they’re the BEST, but I’m very, very gentle with them and love to cuddle, especially when watching movies with my 4 yr old buddy who is sooooooooo cool! It makes me proud that the adults trust me to keep him entertained while they get they’re chores done, it’s important to be part of the family. I’m great with adults too ~ if you like to walk, run or jog then I’m your boy! I go running with my friend Nick and he’s always amazed at my perfect pace and endurance. I also enjoy just hangin out with friends and my foster Mom says I ride beautifully in the car. She also says I have great energy for a little guy because I’m not hyper. I guess that’s good since she doesn’t like “hyper” dogs… but who’s she callin “little”??? I got the biggest heart on the block! I do my very best to please her and everyone else I meet, it’s easy to be a good boy after coming so close to not being here at all. Just for the record, I’m house, crate and car trained, walk (or run) perfect on a slip lead, sit nicely for treats or doors and am super socialized ~ never met a dog, cat or human I didn’t like! Much as I love my foster friends, I’d really like to find a family of my very own ~ a special family that would cherish all the love and devotion one “little black dog” will give
you in return!
Disclaimer:
Please do not worry: no dog was tortured or traumatized during this photo shoot, as evidenced by all their smiles! The dogs had so much fun, thoroughly enjoying all the extra attention while prancing about in their party gear, that the same may easily be said for the various humans involved. Secondly, the selection of costume characters
was intended to accurately reflect Mawgie’s “true character” ~ this guy is a well-mannered sweetie pie and “top athlete” par excellence!!!
