My Story

Spice is a young German Shepherd (approx 10 months old) who was dumped with her brother and sister in the blueberry fields in Surrey. All 3 dogs were extremely fearful of people, and had never been on a leash.. They have been coming out of their shell so nicely that Spice is now ready to move along to a foster home.. She is still nervous of strangers but is not aggressive in any way. She will go up to strangers and sniff but won't let them pet her right away. She is excellent with other dogs of her size and larger and she loves to play! She would greatly benefit from having another friendly, confident, playful dog in the home. Spice has done very well in her foster home, she is relaxed inside, and can be left alone with her foster dog brother for short periods of time. We have tested her with cats, and she showed interest, but walked away after a few sniffs. She shows no inclination to chase or hurt our cats. A home with older children who follow instructions well would be fine, but no small children please due to Spice being fearful and over excitable! She is excellent on leash now, and in a fully enclosed area, she will stick near her person, and always return to the person she trusts. She would love fully detached home, with a fully enclosed back yard. She loves lounging outside when the sun is shining. And loves playing with her dog friends! However, she is a little bit too pushy with small dogs, lots of feet action and sniffing, small dogs don't appreciate Spice's play style at all, so please no small dogs in the home.. Spice has been spayed, microchipped and has had all her vaccines. She's been tested for parvo and other parasites, and dewormed. Whole she was being spayed, the vet noticed that she had an arrhythmia. This is something she may or may not grow out of, but it doesn't seem to cause her any problems. Spice's adoption fee is $795 An adoption application and home visit is required.
