Sparkle is a beautiful purebred AKC registered Bernese Mt Dog, just 2 years old. Small for the breed. She was rescued from an Amish puppy mill in central Ohio, where she was forced to breed litter after litter of puppies for his profit. We rescued her along with the remaining 5 puppies from her last litter, born 9/24/07. ~~~ Sparkle is very thin and had clearly been malnourished. But she is working her way back to health and strength now. Gentle w/ all other dogs. Ignores cats. She is a quiet, calm, somewhat timid/shy girl. But becoming more playful and confident w/ each passing day. She greets her foster mom and dad w/ a gently wagging tail and a happy smile now. She is learning about housetrainign and walking well on a leash. ~~~ She would be too overwhelmed to go to a home w/ children. ~~~ We do require a securely fenced yard for all dog adoptions (and not shock collar "invisible fencing system.")
