Fully housetrained, she walks well on a leash and loves car rides. Sophie has quickly mastered basic commands like "sit," "place," and "come” -- showcasing her intelligence and eagerness to please. She adores people and makes friends quickly. Although Sophie looks like a lamb, her anxiety can sometimes bring out the lion in her, especially around other dogs. Fortunately, she's currently being fostered by a certified dog trainer who is making great progress in managing her not-so-friendly reactions to other dogs. Sophie is thriving in a structured environment where she feels secure and understands her place in the household. Prospective adopters should be calm, confident leaders who can withstand her (admittedly hard-to-resist) puppy dog eyes and demands for affection. They must be committed to continuing Sophie’s training and using tools that help her make good choices and feel safe. One of Sophie’s training highlights is her progress with crate training. Initially wary of her crate, she now sleeps comfortably in it overnight. She is now also working on being alone in her crate during the day, making progress towards overcoming her separation fears.
