Sophie Marie

Sophie Marie arrived at BAARK Dog Rescue along with her housemate after their mom went into a nursing home. While we were able to bring both girls into our Rescue, they do not appear to be bonded to each other, but greatly enjoy the company of other dogs. Little Sophie is about 11 years old, a sweet female Chihuahua who has had a tough life when it comes to her health, Sophie was stricken with glaucoma and required removal of one eye; her other eye has limited vision. Despite her limited vision however, she is very confident in moving throughout her foster home, and loves to be front and center in the household. In addition, Sophie is diabetic, and requires a prescription food along with vetsulin injections twice daily after meals. In spite of her issues, Sophie is quite a little character, deserving of a forever family of her own, able to meet her medical needs as well as her need for an active social life…as well as a cozy place to rest her body when the day is done. Sophie is up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on year-round heartworm prevention, spayed and microchipped.
