Sophie is a sweet. older girl of 10.

Hi - I’m Sophie, a sophisticated, mature, laid back and loving girl who enjoys life and everything it has to offer. My foster family says that I’m comfortable wherever I go and whatever I do. When my own family could no longer take care of me due to a serious illness, they knew I would be taken in by a foster family that would love and take care of me until I found another forever family.

I adjusted immediately to my new family and surroundings. I get along with adults, children and dogs alike. Being mature I don’t chew or suffer from separation anxiety. I love riding in the car, going for walks, playing, getting belly rubs and being close to my human family. I’m a calm, happy, and healthy girl who’s got lots of affection and companionship to offer someone.

I know what you’re thinking she’s 10 years old and probably lays around all day. Not so. My days are filled with activities, sunbathing and relaxation. I go for a one hour walk every day with my foster Mom & Dad and their four Beagles. My buddies get their teeth brushed everyday, and I want to be just like them so I get my teeth brushed everyday, too. The doggie toothpaste tastes really good and my teeth are healthy and pretty.

After breakfast we usually go in the backyard to lie around and catch some sun rays. I love the warmth of the sun and the smells of the flowers in the yard. I don’t bark when I see birds or lizards, I just like to watch them and enjoy nature.

I’m so bright that I learned how to use the doggie door the first day in my foster home. You should see the five of us flying one after the other through the door. I have energy to play and run around with my pack mates. I’m also crate trained, but I usually sleep in my dog bed or on the couch. I know my name so well that I will look at you and come the moment you call my name.

I’ve got a lot of good years left in me, the vet said so. He said my heart is strong, my eyes are clear and I’m in such good health that if he didn’t know my age, he would have though I was around 7 years old.

Remember, age is only a number, so don’t let my age keep you from adopting me, your next best friend. I will shower you with unconditional love and joy everyday, rain or shine.

She is good with kids and other dogs, but she hasn't been around cats so we don't know how she'd do.

Overall, her health is very good. She's had her teeth cleaned and a complete check-up.

She is a very loving, sweet girl that can't wait to find her forever family to love her, cuddle her and spoil her with walks, belly scritches and happy times.
