NEW FOSTER HOME FOR SOPHIE, SOPHIE IS NOW BEING FOSTERED IN VIRGINIA BEACH, VA!
NOTE: Sophie does have separation anxiety, the rescue is trying to work with her on her issues. For more information please email the rescue. What a true delight this little girl is, she was able to make the AAS picnic to join in the fun. Sophie even sported a clown costume for the costume contest. Sophie is GREAT with other dogs, enjoys running and playing with others. She truely is a great little girl that thinks she is a lap dog because of her small size she is easily able to be picked up, only weighly 38 lbs. SOPHIE HAS GRADUATED OBEDIENCE CLASSES, first class they worked on sit w/hand signs and walking nicely on a leash. She is doing very well. STATS: AGE: 1 year old; MEDICAL: Spayed, up to date on shots, hw- and on preventative; GENERAL INFO: In one of her photos, Sophie is enjoying a game of tug the toy with her foster brother Jack. Sophie is crate trained and house trained although she does enjoy tearing the stuffing out of stuffed animals. Sophie rides great in the car and loves to go for walks. Sophie is a Dalmatian mix puppy, white with the classic black spots. . Sophie is classified as a "special needs" adoption because she is deaf. She learns quickly and does best with visual cues. We recommend a home without small children just because she could startle easily if surprised. Very social with other dogs, she is active and playful. Sophie is definitely still a puppy who enjoys chasing squirrels, blowing leaves and birds out in the yard. She will need a home where her people will spend time with her and include her in their daily lives. This little lady is definitely still very puppy like, she will be a great addition to that special someone who is looking for a cute little female companion. Sophie is completely housebroken now. Sophie and her foster mom are learning to do hand signs so that she can better communicate with Sophie. Sophie is a great dog. She is still crated if I leave the house for more than 15 minutes. The dog walker reports that she is great and no trouble at all when being walked. We have been working on her basic commands. She knows no and good girl. We're working on sit. Right now she still doesn't know the hand signal but will sit if you gently push down on her back. She is a high energy dog that will need alot of exercise.
