My Story

Meet Sophia…. Sophia is an adorable puppy, thought to be a Whippet – Black Lab Mix; she’s petite with a dainty bone structure vs the more solid bone structure of a Lab!! She’s very smart, a quick learner, very alert and quite energetic!! At about 4 months, Sophia weighs 16 lbs. It is most important to note that we cannot be 100% sure of her adult weight, but our best guess is about 35-40 lbs. This cute pup joined BAARK from an overcrowded shelter in Kentucky earlier this year. She is thought to have been born around November 24 2022. When joining our rescue program, Sophia appeared happy, playful, and must have sensed that she was “free!” and safe!! Sophia is very sociable, outgoing, playful, and is great with dogs, but can be annoying to older, more well mannered dogs; she would be far too energetic for a senior (dog or human!) An ideal family for Sophia is one able to assimilate the energy of a puppy into their lifestyle and is willing to commit the time to working with and training Sophia to be her best self! A fenced yard is ideal as is another younger or middle-aged pup in the family. Perhaps you’d consider adopting Sara along with Sophia…the girls are sisters!! Sophia is crate-trained and is working on good house manners (housebreaking). She is up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations, is on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Her spay is included in her adoption fee. For information about adding this adorable girl to your family please contact [email protected] or 847-852-0895.
