My Story
Introducing Soldier again! This charming southern gentleman is a one-year-old pup bursting with potential and affection. Fully house-trained and a pro at crate time, Soldier is a dream companion. However, his youthful exuberance sometimes leads him astray, so he's best suited to a home where he can be safely crated when left alone to avoid any mischief with non-toy items.
Soldier is a sensitive soul who thrives in calm environments, so a quieter neighborhood without bustling foot traffic would suit him best. He tends to get a bit anxious with too much commotion, often expressing his concern through vocal reminders at the window. But with a little patience and understanding, he's learning to navigate the world with more confidence, especially with the help of a gentle leader head halter during walks.
To truly see Soldier shine, he must have a fenced-in yard where he can stretch his legs and play freely. While he enjoys leash walks, nothing beats the joy of romping around with a furry friend. Another dog of similar size would be an ideal playmate to help him burn off that excess energy.
He's young so hikes on leash (for now) would be fabulous for him - a backyard is crucial for him to have daily time outside romping with a friend but nothing beats true exercise!!
Soldier is a foodie at heart, so he relishes any opportunity for food-motivated enrichment activities like scavenger hunts and food puzzles.
Despite his initial shyness, Soldier is a sweetheart with a soft spot for children. He gets along famously with his foster family's young ones and their canine crew, including a black lab and two terriers. However, his play style can be a tad vigorous, so he appreciates gentle reminders when playtime needs to wind down.
