My Story

Meet our little “Gargoyle”..…Smurf! Smurf is an approximately 5 months old male French Bulldog (Frenchie). He is on the smaller side for a Frenchie at 18lbs. He was surrendered by a lady whose brother is a …breeder ?. Imagine our surprise. We weren’t surprised???? We believe he was surrendered due to both his eyes, and his probable food allergies which have been causing LOTS of loose stools. Smurf obviously has bilateral cherry eyes, common in Frenchie's, and was seen by one of our specialty vets yesterday in Bossier. He will be having surgery to have them both repaired on Tuesday, 6/4/24 along with his neuter. Smurf is ridiculously sweet, loving, and has such an amazing personality! He is a complete snuggle bug, loves to sleep with you, and really likes car rides. He loves playing with other dogs but is unknown to cats. Smurf does have some GI issues… also common in Frenchies. Our vet believes he may have a protein allergy to Chicken, and he is now on Salmon only kibble, and will need to remain on a chicken and beef free diet. Otherwise, you will be cleaning up a lot of loose ???. Frenchie’s are an amazing breed, but definitely not for everyone. They require a lot of upkeep. We prefer for Smurf to have an adopter that has previous Frenchie experience. He is now up to date on vaccines, bordatella, dewormed, and will be microchipped, neutered, and have his rabies, and eye surgery on 6/4. He is current on heartworm, flea/tick prevention.
