ADOPTED!
Smuckers is between one and two years of age and he weighs 14 lbs. He is a very sweet little guy, but he is afraid of the big wide world! Our guess is that he was a "puppy mill" dog, and--until he found his freedom and ended up at a shelter--he had never been outside the confines of his little cage. He wants so badly to trust people, and--with gentle handling and patience--we have seen him make progress just in the short time we have had him. Smuckers likes other dogs and would do best if he had a doggie companion to boost his self-confidence. He would also be happiest in a fairly quiet home, without small children who might frighten him. Smuckers has been microchipped and he is up to date on his shots and he is heartworm negative. All he needs is a gentle, loving owner to help him blossom into the dog he can be. If you think you might be that person, feel free to e-mail us at:

read more about our rescue's adoption policies and fees. We do not operate a
humane society or shelter, so we do not have a facility that is open to the
public. Our dogs are fostered by volunteers in private homes, and are not
available for viewing until an adoption application is filled out and references
are checked. Please read the information on our home page (by clicking on our
rescue name below this dog's photo) before contacting us.
