He loves to play and LOVES to swim. He is 100% water dog. He would stay in a pool or lake for hours if allowed. Smokey is looking for his forever ice cream date! ? This sweet boy loves riding in the car and adventuring. He knows the sit command. He has a habit of jumping on people in happy greeting, so will need some gentle positive training to learn that there are better ways to greet new people. He completed an obedience course and has also gone to doggie daycare 3 days a week in his previous home. He will need to continue his training with his new family. He plays well with dogs his size, is very social. But DOES NOT play gently enough for small dogs and doesn't like cats at all. He doesn’t have food aggression with smaller dogs, but he will growl if they get too close to a toy that he has claimed as his own. He is crate trained during the day, prefers to sleep in his bed with his human(s) at night. He loves to run, so a big, securely fenced yard is needed. He loves to go on walks, (and would probably LOVE hiking/camping) but if he gets loose, he is a runner, so until he reliably masters distance recall, a leash and firm grip is absolutely necessary outside of a fenced area. Smokey is about 40-50 pounds, fully UTD on vaccines, neutered and micro chipped. Smokey's adoption fee is $350 to help cover the veterinary medical care given prior to adoptions.
