Three month old Skeeter is a little Lab-mix puppy, who is all cuddles, kisses and joyful wiggles. This little one can’t wait to be loved and cherished. In his short life there has been precious little of that for our happy, adaptable and forgiving little fellow.
Hard as it is to believe, Skeeter was found wandering stray at a mere 8 weeks old with what our vet says looks to be a cigarette burn on his little forehead. This baby got sick and awfully dirty during a month long stay in a shelter. His little toe nails grew so long, one ended up being painfully torn off. The burn is healing, he’s healthy as can be, sweet smelling after his first bath and has had his first pedicure.
Whatever his parentage, the patient, joyful and kind temperament of the Lab parent has shined through his ordeal. At 25 pounds, he’s full of playful puppy wiggles, but how he loves to take time out to snuggle up on your lap to soak up some loving!
Puppies, while adorable, are not for everyone. Think carefully if your lifestyle has room for the extraordinary responsibility of raising a puppy. As Skeeter grows he will require your patience, your steady, kind leadership, commitment to his training and rely on you for his extensive daily exercise needs.
If you would like Skeeter, a” dog to be”, to consider your application, please tell us why your home would be suitable for a puppy in the comments section of your application.
Skeeter will only be placed in a home with: (1) adults or older children who can treat a dog with kindness and respect and (2) one that clearly has the dedication and substantial time during the entire day to devote to raising a puppy to responsible adulthood.
