Sir Henry Thoreau

This is Sir Henry David Thoreau. A huge name for such a little guy (22 lbs), but given what he has been though, it is well deserved - title and all. Henry D. has snowy white fur with a splash of root-beer color on one ear and in his eyes. His breed is a guess: miniature Aussie type body, tiny Spitz-like overall with the white fur, curled tail and erect ears, but maybe some Chihuahua made him small? Regardless of royal lineage...Henry D. is cute, cute, cute! He was found in Thoreau, NM under a tree that he had crawled to, waiting to die of the grievous wounds inflicted on him by other dogs. Very fortunately, a kind-hearted savior scooped up his bloody body and rushed him to the animal hospital. Sir Thoreau underwent surgery and his numerous wounds cleaned and stitched. Sir Henry David Thoreau came into EnchantMutts' loving care soon after. But that was THEN! NOW - nothing can get this little guy's spirit down! He has healed nicely and has forgotten all about the past. His mission is to be the happiest, funniest guy around and to always keep a smile on his face (and yours). Even though he was treated unkindly by other dogs, he gets along great with them and even likes cats with some initial supervision. He certainly loves his people and follows his foster everywhere. Very gentle and just a snuggle bug, Henry D. will make a fabulous best friend for a great family - kids would be welcome. He is house trained, loves walks and his energy level is perfect! He is very eager to learn and does exceptional in his crate. He just wants to give his all to make his people happy. SWEET, SWEET, SWEET - this guy is a barrel of laughs! His foster mom thinks he is just about as perfect as they get and has just been amazed to see all this little guy has to offer. If you like hanging with the class clown or the center of the party person - and can handle a well mannered extrovert who will always get lots of attention - Henry could be for you!
