Silas: R.I.P.

12/5/10 - Sadly Silas passed away before he found his forever home.  He was loved and cared for while he lived at the shelter and he will be greatly missed.

This is Silas. He was a bear-hunting Plotthound until his owner decided to retire him and made arrangements with us to take him. He's lived at our shelter about 6 years now, and the only thing he's hunting these days is a comfy spot on the sofa! He is a sweet and gentle boy that loves the other dogs and has never caused a moment's problem. He is about 11 years old now and is definitely slowing down. We're hoping that someone will give this southern gentlemen the retirement home he so deserves. Silas is a candidate for our A.D.O.P.T. training program where he could live with a professional dog trainer prior to adoption to help him become acclimated to home life.
