SHELBY-ADOPTED!

This little lady is Shelby and she truly needs an understanding person to rescue her. Shelby is about 5 years old and weighs under 20 lbs. She is smart as a whip and very willing to please. Shelby came from a High Kill Texas Shelter. She was so special that she was fostered by one of the shelter volunteers to keep her from being euthanized. Shelby was transferred to Little Souls Foundation and is now in CT. It was found that this poor girl does not have the muscle tone in her rectal sphincter muscles that most dogs have but she is able to control herself until she gets outside. Shelby does keep her rear very clean. She needs to be let out more frequently for toileting and should probably be adopted by someone who is available at home during the day. We were also told that she was heartworm negative but repeat testing indicates that she is positive and will need to be treated for this. Our rescue will have her heartworm treated but we want to have a home all picked out and waiting for her when she is finished. The perfect match would be an adult home with a nice secure fenced in yard. Although Shelby plays with some of the bigger puppies also in rescue, she is a dominant female that will not put up with a dog that will challenge her. She also would be best with no cats. Shelby is spayed, microchipped, up to date on her shots including Bordetella, etc. Her adoption fee is $350 to the right home. This fee includes the $150 transport fee that we have already paid to bring her to CT and the rest will help with some of her veterinary expenses. This is a Special little Dog that will require a Special Person and home. We would prefer a CT home. Please send for a pre-adoption questionnaire.
