My Story

Shanti, soon to be named Karma, is being adopted by one of the clients of Zen Dogs. She'll have a young poodle x cocker spaniel buddy named Gemma, and two parents to dote over her!

Shanti is one of 4- 9 week old border collie x shar pei puppies. Their mom was a purebred border collie, their dad was a purebred shar pei. They were born in a chicken coup in Oliver BC. Their "breeder" was planning on drowning them, but a kind neighbour stepped in and raised them. They are now being fostered in the Lower Mainland while waiting for their new homes. They have been socialized with dogs, cat, and kids. They are a little bit shy but very sweet. They are all now vaccinated, dewormed, delfead and paper trained.

Shanti is the smallest, shyest, and most cuddly. She has shar-pei ears. She has a short-to-meidum length coat hair, black with a white chest, and her right front paw is white, with white toes on all other paws. Shanti has an umbilical hernia that will be repaired when she is spayed, and two back dew claws that will be removed.

Shanti - is the cuddliest by far, she just melts in your arms and would be more then content to stay there forever! She is the mellowest, but the most distrusting as well. When new dogs come in or people, she is the one barking at them from a distance, sometimes will go up for a butt nip too. Definitely a people dog with high attention needs ( so far anyways).

Please research both breeds before applying for these pups, and then impress us with your knowledge. They could grow-up with the personality of either, or the best or worst helath and temperment combinations of both breeds. You may wind up with a couch-potato, or a high-energy dog, or many ponts inbetween. Due to their breed mix we will not place these pups in homes with young children.

Their adoption fee is $200, which will help cover their medical care. They will all be spayed/neutered prior to adoption, microchipped, tattooed, have first vaccines, be dewromed and deflead. Send us an email if you are interested in adopting one of these pups and we will send you an application form to fill out. Once completed, if it looks to be a good match, we will set-up an appointment for you to go meet them.
