Shane is so sweet, loving and adorable! He has a very unusual, exotic look. He's brindle and has a gorgeous face and a tiny little mohawk ridge on his head! He likes to play, but can also be a mellow friend who just likes to hang out. He's about 2 years old. He's responsive to training and loves his people. Shane is living with another dog - a full sized female and they are great together. However, Shane is very uncomfortable around new dogs and tends to act out. If you're looking for a social butterfly, Shane mighit not be for you. If you're looking for a cuddly homebody, Shane is a great choice.
This boy was treated very badly. When he was six months old, his owner hung him in a tree (seems to be a common occurence in washington county lately). When the neighbor threatened to call the police, the owner cut the rope. Shane fell to the ground and broke his leg. The owner just left him there so the neighbor called the police. Finally, Shane was signed over to the county and then came to rescue. He had surgery to repair his leg and is doing great. Even he was hurting so badly he would hobble over to people wagging his little tail. We think this boy deserves a fantastic home, don't you?
Shane doesn't do well with cats, so will have to go to a cat-free home.
We aren't sure what kind of mix Shane is. He has fairly short hair and is brindle. Not as thin as a greyhound. No squished face like a boxer - but he does have the play style of a boxer. His head doesn't have the signature pit bull shape and he isn't thick and stocky. One of his ears sticks up like a shepherd. He has a bit of a mowhawk like a rhodesian ridgeback. If he were black or yellow we'd call him a lab mix. Who knows, who cares - he's a handsome American dog with a fantastic, gentle personality!
Adoption Process: We are not first come first served. Indigo Rescue focuses on finding good matches between dogs and families to ensure life long adoptions. We deliver all dogs to their new homes.
All of our dogs are in foster homes. We have adoption events at the Beaverton PetSmart every other Saturday where you can meet many of our dogs at once. Click Here for our Calendar of Events. Or, if you're interested in a particular dog, you can send an e-mail via the e-mail link at the bottom of the page ("Email adoption organization") with answers to the questions below. If the dog seems compatible with your situation we'll set up a time for you to meet the dog.
