My Story

Color: Red Coat: Wire-Hair Special needs dog? No Pattern: Piebald Gender: Male Sanctuary dog? No Size: Tweenie Weight: 16 lbs Spayed/Neutered? Yes Age: 4 Years Category: Adult • Must have fenced yard • Needs dog buddy • No cats • No children • No large dogs Seymour is a pretty special dachshund-JRT mix. He came from Texas and has just completed heartworm treatment. He is now negative for heartworms and ready for his new home. He is very energetic and loving. He will need an all adult local home with a good-sized fenced yard and a female dog buddy his size and energy level. If you are into dominance over your dogs, he is not the one for you. We think he has been abused as he still yelps if he thinks he's going to be hurt. He needs to learn to trust you. Seymour is a boy to fall in love with because of his gorgeous eyes and curly "mohawk". He is a lot of dog and needs a a dog-savvy adopter. He is crate-trained but I'm looking for a new home where he will spend little time in a crate. He does know to potty outside but needs to be reminded to go outside. A little rough on a leash. He will be the very best companion for the right person. He would love to sleep in the big bed. ***Applicants must be willing to drive to Ellicott City, Maryland (10 miles south of Baltimore) to meet and adopt Seymour.*** Want to know more about Seymour?
