My Story

Sesame is an adorable 6 year old Miniature Poodle/Miniature Schnauzer. She came to Precious Paws Rescue as a shelter-transfer so that she could settle into a home environment before adoption. Sesame is fully vetted, including spay, and she's ready to find a home to call her own! Sesame is a lovely little dog. She takes time to warm up to new environments, people, and pets. She does get along well with other small dogs and she ignores the cat in her foster home. She’s a dream traveler in the car, as she just lays on the blanket in the back seat. She has not met any children yet and has very much enjoyed living in a home where the adults are usually home with her for company. A note from Sesame's foster family; "Sesame, “Cee Cee” is a sweet and easy dog. She is cautious and nervous needing some time to warm up to you. She doesn’t like to be reached for or picked up but comes for pats on her own time. She always knows where you are and will follow you around. Once you’ve earned her love and trust, she will come to sit and for cuddles. She will stick to you like glue, always wanting you to be in her sight. She will not enter her crate on her own but settles after gently being guided in and stays quiet all night. Sesame loves her walks but tends to weave so more leash work is required. She loves the freedom of the fenced yard and laying on the deck. She doesn’t ask to go out for bathroom breaks, but if taken out regularly she will go, especially with the knowledge that there is a treat for her after she goes. There has been just one accident in the house. This sweet girl is good and calm with dogs and enjoys another small size companion, while she ignores the cat. Not overly food motivated and though she acts excited at mealtime, she eats slowly and needs to be reminded to finish. Sesame attached herself quickly with her foster Mom but she's also not scared of men. Sesame comes when she is called but hovers back from reach, unless you are one of her trusted people. She is starting to master "sit" as well. She has found her voice and will bark when she sees activity outside the house. She can be nervous about sudden movements and noises and she will jump up when excited. She's learning about toys and appears to have a playful side that's starting to come out."
