Scout

Hi! My name is Scout and I am looking for a forever home. My owner loved me a lot and when he was deployed and could not find anyone in his family to take me, he contacted a small local rescue about helping him. Options were explored with my owner including finding a long-term foster but he didn't want that and wanted him to go to a home. A volunteer with that rescue then contacted BCAA to see if they could help and they said yes! I am what is known as a red aussie and I'm about 18mos old and weight right about 55lbs. I'm a super smart boy and my previous owner had started doing some training with me (sit, down, stay), all of which will need to be reinforced but I'm up for the challenge if you are (especially if treats are involved!). I can be a little picky about who I like so a meet-n-greet would need to be done if you have another dog, but I have ignored those things called cats as they don't interest me at all. I have done really good in my crate without any accidents, barking or tearing up of any bedding, and I go right into when asked, turn around and wait for you to give me a treat. I am pretty good on leash but do pull some in my excitement on being out with you and going on an adventure. I am an active boy and my ideal home is one where I can be given a job, even if it's keeping you in shape with walking and hiking (my foster mom says I would probably be great at agility).
