My name is Scooter. I am a 2 year old neutered Jack Russell Terrier. My people that I lived with brought me to the shelter and said they didn't want me anymore. I am a young boy with my whole life ahead of me and need a home with people who understand Jack Russell terriers. My new foster Mom came to the shelter and got me to save my life. I like it here with the big fenced in yard to run around in and the little swimming pool to throw my toys in! I am learning many things about how to be a good boy -- things my first people never took the time to teach me. I was left alone most of my first 2 years and no one took the time to help me learn new "good" things. I am housebroken and very good about that. I need a home with a safe securely fenced in yard and someone who will play with me and throw my kong toy for me. I love to play and chase the toys with my foster Mom and when we are not playing I like to be by her side all the time. I am a sweet, young boy who really needs an active, loving family to love me! REMEMBER - no cats, mice, birds or other small pet in the house and no small children under 6. Also, a SECURELY fenced in yard is required. This dog will only be adopted to someone with a secure fence. Underground fencing is NOT safe for a Jack Russell. It is required that the household have no small children (under 6) as terriers do NOT make good pets for children, and no small animals (cats, birds, ferrets, etc.) as terriers were bred to hunt and kill small animals. Jack Russell terriers are not suited to apartment or condo life, and it would be unwise to expect them to be anything other than what they were bred to be.
