Schatzy

THIS DOG IS NOT AT THE HUMANE SOCIETY SHELTER IN LOUISA. THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING FOR A FELLOW VOLUNTEER/RESCUER AND HE IS LOCATED IN THE WV AREA. Schatzy is a male salt and pepper Schnauzer who is estimated at 1 year of age. Schatzy was rescued from a shelter in Ohio after he was dumped by his callous owners "because they didn't have time for him" and they wanted him euthanized. Luckily, he was rescued and is now in safety. Why someone would want to have a such a beautiful boy destroyed is beyond comprehension. He is extremely sweet and great with kids, other dogs and cats. He is housetrained and really has no bad habits. His only flaw is he is not used to being groomed and didn't care too much for his hair shaving but it was done out of necessity because his owners not only didn't care enough about him to find him a home but they also didn't care enough about him to keep his coat groomed and he was severely matted when they dumped him at the shelter. Therefore, Schatzy has been shaved down except for his beard and eyebrows, which gives him his comical appearance in these photos! Schatzy is well-mannered in the house never bothering anything and never getting on the furniture. He enjoys the company of another dog and a canine playmate for him would be ideal. He loves to play with toys and he loves human attention. Schatzy weighs around 20 lbs or so and he has a square built body.
