Scarlett came to us from a cruelty/neglect situation, along with her brother Bubba (who is also for adoption). Scarlett was missing fur on approximately 90% of her body - she had hair on the back of her neck and a bit on her head and that was it. Her skin was red, sore and scabbed from all the scratching. She was also significantly underweight. Despite all the discomfort and neglect, she LOVES everyone who walks her, she gives the best hugs! It is a true testament to her temperament to be so forgiving.
She does get overwhelmed easily in crowds of people or meeting several new people at once and she just shies away and doesn't want to interact at first. Once she meets people she will be in their lap in no time, she just needs a little more patience and probably a home without small kids whose loud noises and sudden movements could be scary for her. She is a great dog and a perfect size, she would love to finally be in a safe, loving home!
