My Story

Sasha is a 3 year old Great Dane. She is black in color, has uncropped ears, and has been spayed. She currently weighs 97# but is probably a little underweight. She also has a skin tag on her side that is not causing any problems and could easily be removed for cosmetic reasons only. She is a very good girl and does well in the house. She absolutely loves attention and snuggling with her people. Sasha also likes to talk which is quite funny! She has a few minor downfalls in that she will eat dirty underwear when given the opportunity and feels she is entitled to eat food that is within reach on the counter. These issues can be fixed with appropriate training and patience. She also is very tolerate of being kenneled while the previous owner was away during the day. She currently was living with a newborn baby and she did fine but is requiring more attention than they could provide for her. Sasha had also been around young children occasionally and did great except for knocking them over with her big size, but when recently encountering 2 new children for the first time she had a few instances where she would growl when they came at her too fast. She has never gone farther than that warning but it would be best for her to go to a home without small children or with an understanding that there is going to be an adjusting period to living with active, young children. She was previously an only dog but when meeting new friends she is friendly and does well, except for very small breeds, she doesn't know her own strength and can be too rough. It has been discovered that when Sasha was placed in a home with an adult female dog she wanted and needed to be the alpha female. For this reason a home with no other dogs would be best for her. It is possible she would be fine with male dogs or even females that are submissive in a household but it has not been tested. Sasha had also lived with a cat and a ferret with no problems. She does try to play with cats so they need to be accepting or used to that. She previously lived in town with a fenced in yard but listens well when allowed outside the fence or when she has free roam out in the country. She does require a gentle leader when going on walks to prevent her from pulling to hard, one will be supplied with her when adopted. Sasha is Heartworm negative, dewormed and vaccinated for rabies, distemper and lymes. She will come with a kennel, special food dishes that are elevated and other supplies. I know that she can sound like a problem dog but once you meet her you will absolutely fall in love with her personality. She truly desires human companionship and just needs a loving, understanding home that will have patience to really teach her how to be great dog. Sasha's adoption fee is $150.00
