Sarah is a beautiful Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier female who was rescued from Puppy Mill life as a breeding female. Sarah's life had been one of harshness and cruelty. Sarah was so afraid when rescued that she seemed resigned to death when she would be carried from one place to another. She would hold her head back and her mouth open as if it were hard for her to breathe.
Sarah would not look directly at anyone. She would turn away and hide her sad face.
It took weeks of just talking to Sarah before she would let herself be petted without cringing at the touch of a hand on her soft fur.
After almost 2 months, Sarah will watch for her mom and smile and wag her tail. Sarah will sometimes shyly come over to be petted when mom sits on the ground. Sarah is still fearful, but her desire to be loved will overcome her fears.
Sarah will need a parent who is willing to work with her using a soft voice and gentle hands to help her continue to learn to trust.
The rewards of helping Sarah learn to trust and love her person will be great for both!
Sarah must be an inside family member.
