My Story

7/29:Sangria anyone? This little cutie is a female Collie / Shepherd mix (we believe) ~16 weeks old and ready go! With puppy energy, stunning good looks and an outgoing personality, Sangria would be good in most any active home willing to give her the exercise, love and training she so desires! She wants so badly to please and get attention, that we think she will be a quick learner in a new home. We believe she will be in the neighborhood of 50-70# when full grown, but she is ~ 20# right now! German Sheperds and Collies are herding breeds that like to control their surroundings by circling the perimeter. They sometimes nip at heals to control their herds direction and are attentive watchdogs. Sangria is a social girl that is good with dogs, cats and older kids. She may be a bit too much for toddlers given her size and energy level. She is currently in a foster home where she can hang out with her canine and feline housemates, lounge on the couch and play with the other puppy in the home. This beauty will steal your heart with stunning good lucks and a sweet disposition, but also could be a good walking mate or activity partner along the way. To find out more about Sangria or any of our pets, fill out an application and meet your best friend soon! Due to her size and energy requirements, foster to adopt requirements are: -Living within 80 miles of Adams, NY to continue their vetting in the upcoming weeks. -Having previous/current pets in annually at a local veterinary office and up to date on vaccines as well as spay/neutered. -Since coming from a home with other dogs, they would likely do well with like sized dogs in the home. -Homes with children over 10 years old are recommended due to her current size and activity levels. -Willing to have current dogs/family members come to a meet and greet to meet the pet and be sure an acceptable match. -Having time available to care for, socialize and start training of a new pet. -Preference will be given to homes with previous dog experience and a fenced yard. An adoption donation of $450 is being asked for Sangria if you decide to adopt, in a few weeks, but fostering is free!! She has had her vet check, first and second vaccines, intestinal and external parasite treatment and has been spayed. Please help us to continue helping those that knock on our doors! These poor pups came from a shelter in Berea KY with no social media capability, low adoptions and bare minimum care available. We were contacted by a volunteer recently and will be helping out more as we are able to so that their dogs and pups may have a chance to find homes. Sasha and Sangria are likely ~9week old Shepherd or Collie mixes that are super sweet and very playful. They will likely be in the 50-60# range full grown and they love to run with their much larger dog friend in their foster home. If you've been looking for a good family dog, activity partner, squirrel finder and companion, one of these pups may be perfect for you! Sasha is the brave one that is the investigator. She likes to roam around and look for things to pick up. She is on your heals while walking and eager to hear what's coming next. Sangria is all about observation. She likes to see what you are doing and follow closely behind. She often can be found with a blade of grass in her mouth looking like a true farm girl. She likes to follow the lead of her sister or the larger dog of the house but takes a few minutes to warm up to new people/situations. We really don't think you can go wrong with either of these pups! Due to their size and age, foster to adopt requirements are: -Living within 80 miles of Adams, NY to continue their vetting as needed in the upcoming weeks. -Having previous/current pets in annually at a local veterinary office and up to date on vaccines as well as spay/neutered. -They should do fine with cats and dogs in the home since they are still puppies, but would likely do best in homes with larger breed dogs due to their activity levels. -Homes with children over 5 years old should be ok since they came from a home with children. -Willing to have current dogs/family members come to a meet and greet to meet the pet and be sure an acceptable match. -Having time available to care for, socialize and start training of a new pet. Preference will be given to homes with previous dog experience. An adoption donation of $450 is being asked, if you decide to adopt, after they are spay/neutered, but fostering is free!! They have had their vet checks, are current on vaccines, intestinal, heartworm and external parasite treatment and will be spay/neutered prior to adoption. Please help us to continue helping those that knock on our doors!
