Sammy

Say hello to Sammy. He is a big hunk of dachshund lovin’ who came to us on his last day at the animal shelter. Before ending up in the animal shelter, he was attacked by another animal and sustained a wound above his left eye and on his neck, both of which have healed very well. He now has a very distinguished “guy” scar now above his eye that doesn’t detract from his great looks and winning personality. He is constantly around 5 other dogs in his foster home and gets along amazingly well with all of their different personalities. Sammy is about 4 to 5 years in age, is neutered and up-to-date with his shots, is potty-trained, knows the ins and outs of the doggie door, and is a complete nut for any toy that squeaks. In fact, he finds great pleasure in de-squeaking toys with much gusto. He enjoys playing with other dogs at his foster home and loves to go on car rides. He is currently on an active regimen / low calorie diet to shave off a little extra weight, which is very easy with regular walks and scheduled meals. He is an overall great dachshund that is ready-made for a home. Sammy does not prefer a crate, but he is a good boy in his crate throughout the night. He looooves his naps, and whenever his foster mommy can’t find him, he is generally napping under a blanket on the couch!!
