Sam was captured in a field running with a pack of other dogs. Their was one dead dog already on the road and the people who saw this pack and our little Sam didn't want another casualty. They pulled over to try and catch at elast one of the dogs to take it into safety. One is all the were able to catch- it appears these dogs are very smart and had obviously been running at large for some time as even Sam proved hard to catch-- they basically ran him into a fenced area and just took turns chasing him until he decided his fate was sealed and let them put a loop rope on him.
He was brought here as they were afraid he would be euth at the local shelter due to his fearfulness. They were probably right it would have been a death sentence for this little cutie. He is extremely fearful still even after being her for about a week.
He is proving to be feral but we will work him through it-- as of right now he is still in rehabilitation. As soon as we can comfortably handle him we will get him in for his medical.. As of right now though we are just working on trust.
We will continue to update his bio as he progresses.. Submit your applications early as this little guy won't last long once he becomes the sweet loving little boy we know he can be.
One thing about Sam is that he truly loves other dogs and does very good with the cats. He seems to especially love the large dogs!!
