Saint - Husky - Male - 2 yr old - www.twyla.org
If you'd like to know more about this dog please visit our website at www.Twyla.org
Meet Saint: This GORGEOUS Siberian Husky is about 2 yrs old and has already been through a lot. He was found stray, contracted Parvo, got very sick, beat Parvo and is now healthy, fully vetted and ready for his furever home.
Saint is crate and house trained, rides well in the car, LOVE bike rides and leash walks. He gets along well with other dogs, and does well in social settings, like meeting new human and fur friends at Starbucks or such. He loves cuddling on the couch and goes a little nuts for Ice Cream, like he LOVES ice cream . If he sees you eating a strawberry yogurt bar, he wants to share licks.
That said, Saint is not quite the Saint his name implies, (name comes from the Fleur-de-lis on his head, not his behavior), as he does have a pretty high prey drive and some resource guarding tendencies - he likely had to compete for food while he was a stray, so we can't "blame" him. He likes to eat his meals in the privacy of his crate ( he has an XXL crate at his foster and overall respects his bedding and does not tear it up) and he loves to chew on bones, also in his crate as he will guard those.
Like any good functioning Husky he can be vocal. Especially when he wants or needs something, like when he needs to go potty, he is quite intense. He’s not kidding, he needs to go handle his business. So far never an accident. The boy can hold it, but don’t ignore the ask too long
Saint is looking for a home with large breed experience, Ideally … experienced Husky person that can handle the kinks and embraces the typical Husky behavior, including the stubborn ("I heard you but I'm not reacting"), the vocal ("Must-pee-NOW") and the Hair. Quite a bit of Hair. Luckily he does not mind brushing.
***Please note: All dogs are fostered in private homes of volunteers, so to meet a dog please fill out an Adoption Application on our website (http://www.twyla.org/adopt/our-adoption-process) so we may setup a private meetup with the dog or coordinate for an Introduction at the next general Adoption Meet and Greet (as listed on our website: (http://www.twyla.org/upcoming-events), as not all dogs attend all Meet and Greets***
