My Story

Hi everyone, my name is Sage! If you are looking for a bouncy best friend who follows you around all day, I’m your girl. I am young at about 2 years old. I am the perfect cuddle size, about 40 lbs. I LOVES all the people. I think humans are the best invention ever, and I am friends with all of them. I am a snuggle bug, a real pro. You will find me where you are, cuddling at the foot of your bed, next to you on the couch or in my dog bed nearby. I am a 5-star work-from-home colleague, quietly close by while you work all day. I am quiet and well behaved. I do love snackies and treats. I work for them and I know lots of behavior commands, like sit and come. I am 100% housetrained. I'm smart, a quick learner, so I hope you'll teach me new things. Again, working hard for those treats. One of my favorite pastimes is going for leisurely walks. I also really enjoy playing with tennis balls and squeaky toys. I am a happy girl by default. I smile and wag my tail to say hello. I am currently undergoing heartworm treatment, but the rescue will continue to handle that until I'm all better. If you have room in your heart and home for a sweetheart like me, please apply today and prepare to fall in love! Adoption fee: $80. Fee includes testing, deworming, vaccinations, spay/neuter, 30 days of free pet insurance, one session with a certified behavior trainer and microchip. Apply online: www.pawsforliferescue.org Shop our Wish List for needed donations and have them shipped directly to us: https://a.co/63xC08g NOTE ABOUT BREED LABELING: Visual breed identification of dogs is unreliable and usually inaccurate. So, for most of our adoptable dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Why is labeling a dog such a big deal? A label will stick with a dog for the rest of its life. A label can mean discrimination, losing its home or even death. Labels are a problem for the dogs when we, as the local experts on animals, allow adopters, politicians and community members to think that the label we assign can predict who that dog is or will be. Adoption Process: Complete the application at www.pawsforliferescue.org or go to the direct link at https://form.jotform.com/81935638982170. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the mandatory, minimum two-week adjustment period with the pet as part of your family. You will pay the non-refundable adoption fee at the start of the two-week adjustment period. This pending period allows your new dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the adjustment time as needed and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then we finalize the adoption. Feel free to email if you have any questions.
