Rusty

ADOPTED!
In early November, we rescued Rusty (all ten pounds of him) as his owner was surrendering him to the pound. We suspect that he had been severely abused by someone, although it's possible that he was either hit by a car or may have had distemper which resulted in neurological damage. At any rate, he is--for all practical purposes--blind. He also occasionally has trouble mentally "processing" where sounds are coming from, and he has a slight neurological deficit/weakness of his left side. However, with every passing day Rusty is learning to accommodate to his new world, and his "disabilities" don't stop him from giving grateful little puppy kisses! While he may not recover his sight, we believe that with a very special, dedicated caregiver he will learn to adapt quite well to his new world. In fact, we have seen him make a little progress with every passing day! Rusty is very sweet and cuddly and he is fine with other dogs and cats (as long as they treat him gently and cut him a little slack, since he may bump into them or step on them). Needless to say, we are waiting for just the right person to come into Rusty's life. We do not operate a humane society or shelter, so we do not have a facility that is open to the public. Our dogs are fostered by volunteers in private homes, and are not available for viewing until an adoption application is filled out and references are checked.
