Rudy--Purebred

What a gorgeous dog! Rudy is a purebred harlequin Great Dane. He is 3 years old and weighs 135#. Big dogs are so easy to pet and hug—you don’t have to bend over to do either! Rudy has been moved around a couple of times, through no fault of his own. Once was a divorce and once was a move. We now have the responsibility to make sure that Rudy’s next stop is his forever home, and we take that responsibility very seriously.

Rudy is housetrained and has never needed to be crated. He always had the run of the house and was not destructive.

Rudy loves his creature comforts, in particular the couch. He has been known to growl at you if you try to move him. Being growled at by a 135# dog can be a little intimidating, but not to the right person. Rudy will need a strong pack leader to make sure that he doesn’t get away with inappropriate behavior. If you don’t know what that means, Rudy is not for you.

Rudy has been through Obedience training and knows SIT, DOWN, STAY, HEEL. He is a goofy boy who likes to carry around the garden hose. He can be a big puppy at times.

Rudy gets along fine with other dogs and cats and children. When he plays with other dogs and his person, he is very vocal! He can be a little shy when he first meets a new person, but he warms up quickly. He prefers women.

This dog's adoption fee is $400 (plus tax). This includes being spayed/neutered, current on Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella vaccinations, wormed, microchipped with the HomeAgain microchip, heartworm tested (negative) and medicated during the heartworm season (May-Dec) while in our care, comes with a Gentle Leader headcollar (if we feel it is needed), and is currently learning Basic Obedience commands and good doggie manners.
