My Story

Rudy is in a loving foster home. (he is approximately five months of age and is a big, quiet, young gentleman.) We believe he is a german shepherd/labrador mix with some chow as well (due to his quiet demeanor---though he thoroughly enjoys playtime too!) He is a very DIGNIFIED boy!. He is our GENTLE GIANT, who LOVES being a BIG foster brother to his 'littler' puppy foster siblings. He is a loving guy who just wants to please!

RUDY'S PUPPY FILE UPDATE! (2/24/06) Rudy is such a delightful dog. He has such a sweet, but inquisitive look on his face and his wonderful personality is the icing on the cake. The first night in our home, he took to his new dog bed and slept quietly throughout the night. He is 100% housebroken and goes to the back door to be let out. He is energetic and playful, but not hyper. He takes correction to heart and has the fastest sit in the west. We have started teaching him down and stay and he is learning quickly. We introduced Rudy to walking on the leash and after a few bucking bronco steps, he walked like a champ. He doesn't pull and just trots along very happily. Sometimes he will get scared of a car or a noisy barking dog and he will whine, but he keeps his forward movement. Since his is only 16 weeks old, I expected him to be more afraid of the outside world. However, he is very confident and self-reliant. He boldly goes outside alone or with his new foster brother and leads the way in exploring. He gets along well with our dogs and his younger foster brother and ignores the cats. I think he had a discussion with one of the cats on the first day he was here and decided they weren't so interesting. I recently brought home some extra dog beds to place around the house. Rudy has taken to each of them and naps throughout the day in whichever room I happen to be in that day. Although he bonds to his humans, he is quite content to entertain himself with his toys. I have never seen him exhibit bad habits, (such as distructive chewing, aggression toward smaller animals, inability to train, etc). He loves his ears to be rubbed, doggies toys, walks and doggie treats. He is even great during feeding time. He will sit and wait for his dish and even share with his younger foster brother without agression. He would be a great companion for an individual or a family. He is just a delightful dog!

FROM HIS FOSTER PARENTS: Rudy acclimated with his foster family very quickly. He has learned what it is to play with toys and to have brothers (other dogs) and sisters (a healthy respect for cats). Rudy is affectionate but not needy and energetic but not hyper. Rudy is able to go into the back yard and entertain himself, but is also a gentle playmate with our other smaller foster puppy. Rudy loves dinner time, is completely potty trained, and has been relaxed and comfortable at night. We have started training Rudy on a leash and he is smart and ready for formal obedience training. In short, Rudy will instantly make some lucky family a wonderful companion.

If you are interested in Rudy please email [email protected] for our adoption application. Rudy's adoption fee is $125, he is up to date on all shots, has been neutered and is house trained.
