*********************************************************** RUBY IS TRULY A PRECIOUS GEM. “She has the sweetest eyes and demeanor.” *********************************************************** RUBY is just plain lovely. She welcomes anyone who comes into her space with a friendly tail wag and kind acceptance. She is both dog & people-friendly. We have not had an opportunity to see her with cats or kids. She’s a pretty easy-going gal, and is a nice medium energy pup. MISS RUBY is estimated to be at about 1.5 – 2 years old, and weighs about 30-40 lbs. RUBY found herself in a small Texas town shelter in an area where there is an abundance of stray and neglected animals. Due to the recent state legislation, the pound is getting an overwhelming influx of owner surrenders. When dogs are left tethered day and night, people are able to relieve themselves from paying those citations by agreeing to surrender the dog instead. We suspect RUBY was tethered outside due to a scar that looks like it came from an embedded collar. She also has several scars that seem to come from past dog attacks (which is not surprising given the area she is from). RUBY has a rough start to life, yet has maintained a positive outlook. It’s incredible she hasn’t exhibited any anxieties or fears. In fact, she actually seemed quite content & happy while at the pound… as if it was the best life she had ever experienced (at that point)! So of course, we are eager for something much better for her. This young lady loves treats, walks, and affectionate. She is also playful so a family or an engaging life of some sort would be ideal for her. Given she may have been an outdoor pup, this girl may require some attention towards her house-training, although with regular activity and structure, we expect this is something she could master soon enough.
