Rubin is approx. 2 years old. He came into the shelter after a local veterinarian clinic asked for help from rescues to save him because his time was running out. Rubin had been picked up by an Animal Control Officer and taken to the vet because someone had tried to 'self-neuter' the poor boy.
This very handsome and loving boy has a great temperament and is very smart. Rubin plays fetch, knows how to sit, and loads easily in a car. He never gave the clinic staff any problems while they were taking care of him and shelter volunteers have found that to be the same. Rubin gets along with every dog we have put him with so far. He lets us treat his surgery site and he takes his pills. A real joy and just a GREAT dog!
UPDATE: Rubin went with shelter volunteers to the March 31 Doggie Easter Egg Hunt. He was wonderful around the other dogs and did great with the children. Rubin didn't seem to mind all of the commotion one bit. He enjoyed all of the attention he received from everyone and was a perfect gentleman.
June 9, 2007 - UPDATE: Shelter staff has noticed that Rubin is entertaining himself by playing with a pretty good size rock. He will roll it around and pounces on it. The poor boy so needs someone to play with.
