My Story

Roxie is a gorgeous blue-eyed baby with an adorable spotted mustache. She's a playful 5 month old Catahoula puppy and based on her current large stature, she's going to be one big and beautiful girl! Roxie is always happy to give kisses and enjoys get attention. She loves playing with other dogs, but is pretty laid back for her breed and equally loves her nap time. Roxie's parents are both merle Catahoula Leopard Dogs. Like many double merle dogs, Roxie was born deaf but she doesn't know she's any different than her foster siblings. Just swap in some hand signals for words and she learns like any other smart pup! Roxie will need a patient adopter who'll be dedicated to training her with force-free methods to help her learn how to best communicate and to keep her safe. Roxie does require a forever home with another friendly and affectionate dog to make her feel safe. She also sweetly finds comfort cuddling with them. Roxie is such a loving girl that she is sure to make a show-stopping and wonderful best friend! All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info would be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the number of introductions/questions received (hundreds daily) we ask you submit an application on our website (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue). The adoption fee for puppies covers initial deworming, puppy vaccinations, microchip, and spay/neuter at the rescue's approved vet at 6 months of age. Please see our website for more information. 2024 Adoption Fee Scale for non-benefactor animals: Puppies under 12 months - $350 Dogs over 12 months - $250 For additional information, including the adoption process and our adoption fee scale for all our adoptable pets, see our FAQs page: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/faq *Take Paws Rescue saves dogs from high-kill shelters in Southeast Louisiana, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our puppies live in foster homes where they are socialized, and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it’s the perfect match! **Any breed labels used by Take Paws Rescue, its employees/volunteers, or on vet records provided cannot be guaranteed. Breed labels are given based on information obtained during intake and/or best guesses based on appearance and/or temperament of the dogs and Take Paws Rescue gives no assurance to the accuracy of these labels. Labels are necessary for postings to many animal networking sites, such as Pet Finder, and are no way a guarantee. Additionally, exact age and potential size cannot be guaranteed.
