My Story

Hello, My name is Roscoe (Roscoe P Cooool Train, P Coo (stands for pretty cool)). I am a dachshund/minpin mix with a zest for life. Unfortunately, they don’t know exactly how old I am because my teeth were really bad when I came into rescue that they had to remove all the remaining teeth in my mouth. Ouch. But I feel much better now so don’t worry. I am starting to grey a little on my snout so I might be 8 or older. I am a very happy boy. Especially in the mornings and in the evenings when I know I am going to eat. I LOVE to EAT. I also love my treats which my foster mom will give me when I go outside to do my business. Sometimes, I like to trick her and go outside and do nothing but come in acting like I did do something just so she will give me a treat. Shhhh don’t tell her. I have no issues eating with no teeth or smiling or even sticking my tongue out. Sometimes, that happens even when I don’t want it to. My foster mom says I look so darn cute when that happens. Are boy dogs suppose to be cute? I think I look handsome. I am house trained and kennel trained, but I don’t really like the kennel and will make noise when you leave. I love my blankies and my dog beds and while my foster mom is working, I will either sleep on the dog bed and wait patiently for her work day to be over or I will curl up on her lap while she is working and take a good nap. When I sleep at night, I will sleep in the bed with her sometimes or else on my cozy big dog bed on the floor next to her bed. After my last visit outside for the night, I sleep all night and don’t have to go out again until morning. I don’t bark a lot but I love to watch out the window and will yell at people who are walking by. I don’t yell at them for very long though. I love to run around in the yard and I don’t make much noise while I am out there. At some point, my back right leg was hurt so I cant bend it. This does not stop me from going on walks or hoping around when I know its time to eat. I can get up the stairs but it takes me a little longer because I have to go up sideways. Most of the time my foster mom carries me up the stairs just to be safe that I don’t fall down them. I have no problems letting her carry me, less work I have do. Work smarter not harder right? I have no problems going down the stairs. I do startle easily when someone approaches me out of no where or too fast. However, I don’t nip or bite. I will stop in my tracks and shy away from you instead. I will let you know when I want to be picked up or not. For my forever family, I am looking for the humans to be patient with me and give me time to settle in. I am good with other dogs but do need a slow introductions. I have no problems with dogs littler than me, it’s the bigger ones that take a little getting used to. I am also good with cats, kids and adults. I love to snuggle but I am not big on the kissing, so there is no worry that I will slobber all over you. If you are looking for a debonair man who looks good in a bow tie and red cape, a man who will snuggle with you and make you laugh multiple times a day, I just might be your man. I look forward to meeting and finding my furever family.
