Dog's Name: Romeo (ROM0524CALMN) Estimated Breed: Standard Dachshund / Beagle MIX Approximate Age: 5 years Approximate Weight: 26 lbs Currently Living at: Foster Adoption Fee: $400 DOG'S DESCRIPTION: Meet loveable Romeo! He is a sweet, low key guy who seems to get along with everyone (people, dogs, cats, probably other creatures as well). He is quiet (not a barker), is crate trained and house trained and walks well on leash, and would probably fit well into almost any type of living situation . He would prefer a calmer home with mainly adults and older children, since he would usally rather nap than race around, although he's very happy to go out on his walks and likes his toys. He can handle stairs and jumps onto chairs and into cars with no problem, although as with all Dachsunds it would be best to give him steps or a ramp to get up onto higher places, such as your bed. Romeo is looking for someone to hang out with and to love. Could it be you? Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family. Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.
