Rocky Road

RR is about 7-8 yrs old and comes with a very sad story. RR was adopted by someone about a year and a half ago from Oregon Humane Society. Sometime over the next year, RR wasn't receiving adequate care and he became flea infested and developed kidney disease. His owner took him to the vet and was told what she needed to do for him; treat him for fleas and feed him a special diet for kidney disease. With those two simple steps, RR could live a normal lifespan. Unfortunately, RR's owner did not do those two things and RR got worse and worse until the woman finally took him to the shelter to be euthanized.

Luckily, we were able to intervene. We treated RR for his fleas and scrubbed all the scabs off his skin (see attached before pic of his skinny, hairless body.) We put him on the appropriate diet and RR started to thrive. In two months, RR was a new dog! He looks and feels sooooo much better, you can see him smile. What a difference! Now, RR is looking for a new home with someone who will continue his care and give him the home he deserves.

Adoption Process: We are not first come first served. Indigo Rescue focuses on finding good matches between dogs and families to ensure life long adoptions. We deliver all dogs to their new homes.

All of our dogs are in foster homes. We have adoption events at the Beaverton PetSmart every other Saturday where you can meet many of our dogs at once. Click Here for our Calendar of Events.
