In 10-10-08. This truly wonderful purebred "beast" was surrendered by a very heartbroken woman who could not keep him due to hubby's dislike for the breed and the fact that she had no fence. She found him at the dog park a week ago, tracked down his previous owners, and they told her they'd given him away and were not interested in having him back. They also could not provide her with the information for the people they had given him to. Now, this puzzles both of us, as this in one wonderful dog. Bloodhounds, esp. big males, can be very dominant and aggressive dogs, he is NOT. Bloodhounds can be consumed with wanderlust.... he is NOT. Bloodhounds can be very stinky and have terrible ear problems.... he does NOT. He is housebroken, wonderful with other dogs, kids and cats. He is not a roamer, but you WILL have to have a securely fenced yard to adopt from us. He is a lover and he IS a housedog, to an extent. He is protective of his food bowl, during feeding time, but will take a bisquit out of your fingers with the softest mouth I've ever seen. He does not like to ride in the car, he get's nervous and car sick. I imagine, with his size, his previous owners rarely took him anywhere in the car, as so often happens with the giant breeds, so he's just not used to it. He will not be going to a home where he is going to live outside 24/7. He is about 165#'s, and is perfect health. We expect people with BH experience to apply, people who aren't afraid of drool and slobber and have room for him to live comfortably with you as a family unit.
